An award-winning San Diego artist, Sherry Roper is inspired by the traditional realism style of art. She paints in the classical method of the old masters, employing careful drawing, a monochromatic underpainting, followed by layers of oil color and glazes.  Hoping to produce a sense of mindfulness in the viewer, Sherry chooses subjects that reflect her appreciation of nature and the simple pleasures in life.  Her desire is to create paintings that speak to her own personal vision of beauty because & quote: “We could all use a little more beauty in our lives."
