An award-winning artist, Sherry Roper is inspired by the traditional realism style of art.
She paints in the classical method of the old masters, employing careful drawing, a
monochromatic underpainting, followed by layers of oil color and glazes.  Hoping to
produce a sense of mindfulness in the viewer, Sherry chooses subjects that reflect her
appreciation of nature and the simple pleasures in life.  Her desire is to create paintings
that speak to her own personal vision of beauty because & quote: we could all use a little more
beauty in our lives.

Sherry has been painting in watercolor and oil for many years.  Her work has been
included in numerous local, national, and international exhibitions and has won many
awards.  Her paintings have been featured in two editions of North Light
Publishing & Splash: Best of Watercolor series of books, Splash 16: Exploring
Texture and Splash 17: Inspiring Subjects.

Sherry lives in San Diego with her husband Greg. She is a member of the following
organizations:
